Elon Musk Reports ‘Massive DDOS Attack’ on X During Donald Trump Interview

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk revealed that a cyberattack on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), disrupted his planned conversation with former President Donald Trump. Musk stated that he was working to shut down the “massive DDOS attack” that impacted X during the event.

Despite the attack, the interview proceeded with a smaller audience and was later posted on X. The disruption occurred around the scheduled 10 am AEST interview time, causing access issues for many users, though approximately 214,000 were able to join successfully.

Just before the event, Elon Musk clarified that he was having a conversation with Trump, not an interview, saying, “People aren’t always themselves in an interview, so it’s hard to really know them.”

He then posted on X about a “massive DDOS attack” hitting the platform, explaining that this type of cyberattack overwhelms a server with traffic to try and take it offline.

Musk added that they were working to stop the attack but, if necessary, would continue with fewer live listeners and share the conversation later.
